Young and excellent club held conference for 2014
Young and excellent club (YEC) held her eleventh conference on the 19th and 20th of December 2014 with the theme "Step up to the next level" at Christ Baptist Church, Awe Oyo state.
YEC was created in 2003 by a group of young talents, as at the time of inception are undergraduates, and now are men of substance with the aim of "creating a culture of excellence and Godliness" among youths. Activities in YEC includes YEC speech contest, Dr. (Mrs.) O. Y. Giwa spelling Bee competition, YEC talent night, YEC group discussion and lots more that can affect the lives of youths positively.
Dr. (Mrs.) Giwa is also the proprietress of Best Legacy international schools which is undoubtedly one of the best schools in the country. She is dedicated to bringing the best out of youth she considers them the future of the nation.
YEC ever since inception, have been impacting lives of youths in Awe.
Some other programs include: chart the future conference for undergraduates and graduates, spelling Bee competition, Awe day program for secondary school students in Awe, adopt-a-school program.
The program, this year, features programs such as discussions on:
1. Break Barrier: in order to step up to the next level. The words of Jordan Belfort says 'the only thing standing between you and your goals is the bullshit story you keep telling yourself that you can not achieve it'. The audience were instructed in four groups where each group has been taught to break through any barrier on their way of success. 'He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.' "The person, who identifies his or her barriers and proceeds on toward their dreams anyways, will succeed."
2. How to frame your world with your words: Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat it's fruit, so puts the Holy scriptures. It is therefore important to know the our mouth has a creative power and the words we speak control our lives. The renewal of mind is the first thing that is needed to be done in order to frame a wider world of success.
Also, at the program, youths were encouraged to pick a case study of someone who they will want to be like in years to come and study the life of such from where they were coming from to where they are presently; in other words, introducing them to mentorship.
YEC has planned to spread its tentacles beyond Oyo state, therefore soon, YEC will be found in other states.
