FORGETTING WHO IS PRESIDENT

by ZAILANI BAPPA Many Nigerians are not used to democratic norms to the extent of forgetting the provisions of their constitution. For the first time, the person we love to call dictator is, in fact, the most democratic of all the Presidents we ever had. He willingly followed the constitutional provision of writing the National Assembly of his vacation and asked both arms to authorise Acting Presidency on his Vice. And this was duly done. And executive powers  now rest with the Acting President. Healthy or not, he is no longer the executing officer and therefore, need to be given the peace to use his vacation anyway he likes. If you continue to bother him like that, then he is not really on vacation. I think it is time we recognise that Vice President Osinbajo is, right now, the executing President by the provision of the constitution. And that has been confirmed , once again, by the letter he sent from his vacation. And we ought to be confident in the Acting Presiden...
